The left-handed Havant skipper hit eight fours in a 107-ball 72 after Simon Woodruff (4-37) had removed openers Stu Ransley and Peter Hopson.
He added 64 with Harry Gadd (38) and another 89 with George Metzger (53 off 44 balls) which took Havant to the brink of victory.
