Hampshire's Joe Weatherley, pictured, hit a second consecutive unbeaten century for his adopted South Australia Grade club Woodville - only for heavy rain to deny him leading his side to victory over West End Premier League rivals Adelaide.
He followed up his maiden double-century against Prospect with an undefeated 124 (two sixes and 12 fours), but with Woodville 242-1 chasing Adelaide's 393-6, the Glandore Oval ground was flooded by a tropical storm. Woodville needed to score at six runs an over in the final session, but the match was abandoned as a draw.
"It was a great shame. Team-mate Stuart Coles (93) and myself had already shared a 200-plus partnership after 67 overs, so we had plenty of time left," Weatherley reflected.
Sam Raphael (148) and Dan Payne (93), who played Southern Premier League cricket locally for Lymington and Sparsholt, respectively, top scored for Adelaide.
Elsewhere, Mason Crane continued his encouraging form with the bat by scoring 30 as Gordon posted a healthy 328-9 in their New South Wales Premiership match against Sydney.
Crane has made four 50-plus scores for Gordon this winter, in addition to capturing 37 wickets with his leg-spin bowling.
