Southampton University’s students are off to a flier in the BUCS Championships with back-to-back nine-wicket wins over their Swansea and Surrey counterparts in Premier B South.
In both games, the Wessex bowlers took all ten opposition wickets – Swansea being rushed out for 121 - a total Southampton polished off in quick time through Ryan Parnell (69 not out) and skipper Fred Wilson (25 not out).
Paceman Satbir Mann took four wickets against Swansea and another three as Surrey were bowled out for 151 at Normandy.
Parnell was again to the fore in the victory chase, hitting an undefeated 79 alongside 59 not out by Jake Fish.
Southampton’s next match is against arch rivals Bournemouth at Totton & Eling on Wednesday week, May 11.
