Jake Winter fired off a second West End Premier League century when he hit 131 for his home club Glenelg against Port Adelaide this weekend.
The 19-year old, who spent the summer with South Wilts, hit three sixes and 20 fours as Glenelg piled up 400-7 before bowling Port Adelaide out for 344.
He hit 123 against East Torrens earlier in the South Australia Grade competition, having made runs for the state second team against the touring South Africans.
Sarisbury Athletic’s Harry Hovey also made his mark this weekend, scoring 67 for his adopted North Melbourne club Greenvale Kangaroos, who lost their Victoria Premier Second Grade match with St Kilda. Hovey dipped his toes into the demanding arena of Melbourne First Grade cricket the previous week against Essendon.
New Milton’s Tom Arnold has made two 40-plus scores for Park Royal/Brunswick, while Alton teenager Dan Scott is gradually making his mark with another Melbourne club, South Yarra.
