James Morris - Alton Alton were bowled out before lunch by Bashley (Rydal), whose eventual four-wicket win was underpinned by Berkshire Minor Counties batsman James Morris, who hit a run-a-ball 64.
The bowling credits went to Dorset off-spinner Sam Thomson, whose 5-28 return took his haul for the season to 30 wickets.
Alton were in trouble from the off, losing their top three batsmen – two to Kevin Nash (2-28) and the other to a run out – before they got 20 runs on the board.
Thomson cut through the Alton middle-order, taking five of the next six wickets to fall, with Michael Heffernan (24) the only batsmen to provide creditable resistance.
Alton were back out in the field defending a lean 128 before lunch was served.
Bashley looked to be cruising towards an easy win on the back of contributions by the Morris brothers, James (63) and Richard (23), but from 93-2 they contrived to lose four wickets to leg spinner Jack Myers (4-25) before the target was reached at 132-6.
