Calmore Sports skipper Mark Lavelle carried his bat for a battling 117 not out, but was unable to save the relegation threatened local side from a three-wicket defeat by Southern Electric Premier Division 1 title chasers Hook & Newnham Basics at Loperwood Park.
Lavelle hit two sixes and 16 fours in his knock and was supported by Michael Cook (56) as Calmore posted 224-7.
Spencer Champ took 4-35 for Hook, whose reply began poorly when Paul Proudley (2-34) dismissed openers Ben Thane and Kieran Thomson.
Jordan Hobday (39) and Matt Love (19) got Hook back on track, but the match winning innings came from number six Matt Buckingham (pictured), whose 102-ball stay at the crease yielded an invaluable 88 runs, including 12 fours.
Buckingham shared an 83-run stand with cousin Josh, whose 39 not out included the winning runs which came off the first ball of the last over.
Hook remain six points behind leaders New Milton, whose scrambled tree-wicket win at Liphook & Ripsley owed everything to Trojans hockey starlet Toby Edwards.
Chasing Liphook’s 191-9 – a total based heavily on a century-plus opening stand between Chris Martin (56) and Rob Nicklin (54) – New Milton plunged to 62-5 and appeared set for an untimely defeat.
But Loughborough University bound Edwards arrived at the crease just in the nick of time and swatted six sixes and six fours in a typically swashbuckling 84.
Edwards added 83 with Lee Beck (27) before a relieved New Milton got home with three balls to spare.
Former Poole Grammar School student Ryan Wiltshire, pictured, celebrated a maiden SPL1 century and helped Dave Kidner (68) in a huge fifth-wicket stand of 175 as Bournemouth celebrated a third straight win by 18 runs at Hartley Wintney.
Bournemouth were in a pickle at 46-4 when the pair came together, but Wiltshire’s 100, which contained 14 boundaries, pushed their score to 249-7.
Hartley Wintney dropped to 53-5, but rallied with Dan Wrenn (53) and Chris Jolley (44) lifting the score to a threatening 193-6. But the hosts finished at 231-7.
Half-centuries by Ali Hooper (65) and Glynn Treagus (52) helped Andover reach 221-6, after which Rowledge were dismissed for 197.

Totton & Eling remain six points adrift of the Division 1 safety line after suffering a 134-run defeat by Basingstoke & North Hants at Southern Gardens.
Realistically, Hartley Wintney are the only side Totton can catch – and they come to bottom-of-the-table Calmore Sports on Saturday.
Totton made an encouraging start, having the visiting Bountymen 59-3 (Chris Oliver 32) before Mitch Stokes (99) and Craig Williamson (92) changed the face of the game with a 156-run partnership.
With Martyn James (32) pushing Basingstoke on go 306-7, the game was effectively out of Totton’s reach by the tea break.
Azeem Hamid (36) provided Totton with a decent start, but wickets fell at regular intervals as the Eels were dismissed for 172 (Olie Perrin 28), with Matt Thankachan taking 4-35.
