PREMIER: CRANE LIFT BUT ACADEMY LEFT IN WHEAL SPIN

12/6/2015

The Hampshire Academy’s three-match winning sequence was checked by a 25-run beating from Havant on the Ageas Bowl Nursery Ground, where all the visitors’ top order made 25-run plus starts without going on to make a substantial contribution.
Havant were five down when Chris Morgan (45) and Chris Stone (52) – both former Academy players – consolidated matters.  Havant closed 244-9, with England Under-19 leg spinner Mason Crane taking 5-108.
The ever maturing Brad Taylor (64) and Tom Alsop (46) top scored for the Academy, who were dismissed for 219, with Brad Wheal and Chris Morgan sharing six of the wickets.
