The record breaking Augustus brothers, Dylan (left) and Darren (right), have left relegated Totton & Eling to join up with their old Eels team-mate David Taylor at Division 1 rivals Andover.
The pair wrote themselves into the cricket annuals last June by becoming the first siblings to each take five wickets in the same innings of an ECB Southern Electric Premier League match. It happened in Totton & Eling’s ultimately abandoned Premier Division match against the Hampshire Academy - Darron taking 5-74 and younger brother Dylan a league best 5-46. Their ten-wicket family haul is believed to a first in Premier League cricket in this country.
Returning to the London Road set and boosting Andover’s spin bowling options is former Lions captain Matt Hooper, who has been playing Devon Premier League cricket with Plymouth, where he took 101 competitive wickets in five seasons for the Mount Wise club. Andover, who successfully overcame an unexpected SPL1 relegation struggle last summer, have no plan to engage an overseas player.
