St Cross Symondians cricketer Steve Berryman, pictured, has high hopes of winning the Hampshire League County Division 1 batting award after signing off the season with a second century.
His 128 not out in a losing cause against visiting Fareham & Crofton lifted his run tally for the summer to 709 from 13 knocks.
He previously hit 108 in an early season win over Ellingham and should finish the summer as the ‘home grown’ batsman with the highest run aggregate.
Ropley’s South African import Tim Niemand will top the charts with 894 runs, but overseas players aren’t eligible to pick up HL awards.
Portsmouth & Southsea all-rounder Matt Benfield (578), Fareham & Crofton left-hander Tom Kent (540) and Purbrook’s John Moller (519) all topped the 500-run mark.
Moller’s team-mate Aaron Dean, who took 9-30 in one match against relegated Ellingham, finished the season with 38 wickets and is favourite for the bowling prize.
Despite Berryman’s treble, St Cross Symondians III (280-8) fell 27 runs short in their quest to overhaul Fareham & Crofton’s 307-6 on the compact Green Jackets Ground.
Fareham’s total was underpinned by Peter Symonds College bound Morgan Frost, pictured, who at 16-years of age celebrated a career-best 103 to become one of the youngest batsmen to score a County Division 1 hundred.
Frost and Tom Kent (61) effectively set up Fareham’s win with a 185-run opening stand.
Alton got the point they needed to clinch the CD1 title with a five-wicket win over Ellingham, whose disastrous past three months has culminated in relegation.
Ellingham, who were banging loudly on the Premier League’s door for promotion after finishing second a few seasons ago, were rushed out for 84, with the Hughes brothers, Alex (3-11) and Lawrence (37) influential in Alton’s success.
Purbrook go up with Alton, clinching their return ticket to the SPL after six years with a 56-run win over Hook & Newnham Basics II, who should be the next team to rise as their young talent develops.
Brad Mengham and Sean Figgins both hit fifties as Purbrook, wobbling at 120-5, eventually posted 245-8, while Hook’s first three batsmen perished for 17 before Rhodes Franklin, with a six strewn 38, and Ben Alnutt (31) redeemed affairs. 
Hook made 189, while Purbrook promotion partied until the break of dawn !
Ropley finished third after mauling relegated Andover II for 340-6 at Vicarage Lane, where Robert Smith (93) and Will Stennett (62) enjoyed a 132-run start, which Alex Spencer (66) subsequently enhanced.
Stuart Summers (67) and Kelem Watta (47) responded with a century stand of their own for Andover, who were dismissed for 162, with Niemand taking five wickets.
Portsmouth & Southsea face another CD1 season after a 137-run win over a much weakened New Milton II at Fernhill.
Matt Benfield certainly enjoyed his trip to the Forest, hitting a scorching 151 before taking 3-27 in NM’s 180 all out.  Equally satisfying was young Oli Kanavan’s maiden 50 for P & S.
Burridge and United Services ended their respective campaigns on a winning note, while Sarisbury Athletic’s safety was ensured when their visit to Shrewton ended early on after a Biblical storm sank Salisbury Plain.
