Gosport Borough teenage tormentors Jacob Harris (above) and Jack Richards (right) are to spend the winter months fine tuning their skills in Australian Country Districts cricket. Harris was arguably the stand-out all-rounder in County Division 1 this summer, hitting three centuries in his 564-run haul, in addition to taking 32 wickets. Off-spinner Richards took 22 wickets to help Gosport finish third behind champions Parley and Hook & Newnham Basics II. Harris will play in Colac (a two-hour trip west of Melbourne), where he will work as a lumberjack for a timber company, while Richards has put a university offer on hold to play for Merewether in Northern New South Wales. |
