Fifteen-year old Kam Dhariwal had double cause for celebration after his maiden club century laid the foundations to Compton & Chandler’s Ford’s 65-run victory over Hursley Park at the Memorial Playing Fields.
The win put CCF in top spot in the Winchester Club Championship, two points clear of Fair Oak (who lost their unbeaten record to Easton & Martyr Worthy) and four ahead of Longparish, who crashed heavily to Alton.
Dhariwal, a King Edward VI School student, carried his bat for 112, hitting a six and 13 fours as Compton piled up 246-8. He shared a third-wicket stand of 114 with Liam Palmer (55).
Hursley Park replied with 181-8, William Flynn hitting 52.
